چکیده

where 8, is the thickness of diffusant initially plated on the surface of the specimen, D is the diffusivity, and c(x, t) is atomic fraction of the diffusant at (x, t). This expression is appropriate if the diffusion anneal is long compared to mSo2/4Dc'„ where c, is the solubility of the diffusant. "' In some systems, this condition cannot be met. For example, in the study of the diffusion of zinc into lead, "' it was found that surface oxidation led to back-diffusion and "humped" concentration profiles, rather than Gaussian profiles, for long diffusion times. In that work, short diffusion time ;experiments were performed, leading to the wellknown erfc solution of the diffusion equation

Kinetics of Sphalerite Leaching by Sodium Nitrate in Sulfuric Acid

In the present work, the extraction of zinc from a sphalerite concentrate using sodium nitrate as an oxidant in a sulfuric acid solution was investigated. The effective parameters such as the temperature, sulfuric acid and sodium nitrite concentrations, stirring speed, particle size, and solid/liquid (S/L) ratio were analyzed. The dissolution rate increased with increase in the sulfuric acid an...

The Contribution of Molecular Diffusion in Silica Coating and Chemical Reaction in the Overall Rate of Reaction of Aluminum Hydroxide with Fluosilicic Acid

The kinetic of the heterogeneous chemical reaction of aluminum hydroxide and fluosilicic acid was studied. It was found that the diffusion of the reactants through the porous silica coating to the aluminum hydroxide surface and the interfacial chemical reaction between the diffusing reactant and aluminum hydroxide platelets control the overall reaction rate. These two phenomena were studied...

Wave Propagation at the Boundary Surface of Inviscid Fluid Half-Space and Thermoelastic Diffusion Solid Half-Space with Dual-Phase-Lag Models

The present investigation deals  with the reflection and transmission phenomenon due to incident plane longitudinal wave at a plane interface between inviscid fluid half-space and a thermoelastic diffusion solid half-space with dual-phase-lag heat transfer (DPLT) and dual-phase-lag diffusion (DPLD) models. The theory of thermoelasticity with dual-phase-lag heat transfer developed by Roychoudhar...

Study of kinetics, isotherms and thermodynamics of lead adsorption from aqueous solutions using Lignocellulose Nano-fibers (LCNFs)

The surface adsorption of heavy metals in effluents with nanoparticles is today asuitable method for effluents treatment. In the present study, lignocellulose nano-fibers(LCNFs) were used as natural adsorbent for lead adsorption. The aim was to evaluate leadadsorption using adsorption isotherms, kinetics and thermodynamics. Fourier TransformInfrared Sp...

Dissolution of Nickel and Cobalt from Iron-Rich Laterite Ores Using Different Organic Acids

Due to the decreasing production of nickel and cobalt from sulfide sources, the Ni and Co extraction from the oxide ores (laterites) have become more prevalent. In this research work, the effects of calcination prior to leaching, acid concentration, percent solid, pH, and stirring speed on the nickel and cobalt recoveries from an iron-rich laterite ore sample were investigated using diffe...
